Improvement of active distribution systems with high penetration capacities of shunt reactive compensators and distributed generators using Bald Eagle Search

This work proposes an intelligent allocation of distributed generation (DG) units and shunt reactive compensators (SRC) with high penetration capacities into distribution systems for power loss mitigation using the Bald Eagle Search (BES) optimization algorithm. The causes a reduction in voltage variations enhances stability systems. SRC include capacitors (SC), Static Var Compensators (SVC), Distribution (DSTATCOM), which are determined according to their capacities. study includes 33-bus 118-bus as medium large Performance parameters, including loss, Total Voltage Deviation (TVD), Stability Index (SI), besides recorded each case study. When BES algorithm optimizes 1, 2, 3 DG operating at optimal factor (OPF) systems, percentage reductions reach 67.84%, 86.49%, 94.44%, respectively. Reductions 28.26%, 34.47%, 35.24%, 35.44% achieved while optimizing 3, 5, 7 units. With combination DG/SRC units, achieve 72.30%, 93.89%, 97.49%, 5 pairs them. Similar rest performance parameters. system, 29.14%, 73.27%, 83.72%, 90.14%, 93.41% allocations 7, 9 OPF. reaches 11.15%, 39.08% 1 21 devices when SRC. optimized together, turns out be 32.83%, 73.31%, 83.32%, 88.52%, 91.29% approach leads enhanced profile near acceptable range bus voltages, reduces fluctuation substantially, system stability. also ensures algorithm’s capability solve these nonlinear problems decision-variable numbers.
